Arblaster & Clarke's Barrels at the 150th Beaune Hospices Auction! — Posted on: 21/11/2010
The 150th Beaune Hospices Auction took place on the 22 November 2010 and we are delighted to announce that Arblaster & Clarke Wine Tours and our wine buying syndicate are now the proud owners of two magnificent barrels of the 2010 Domaine de Hospices de Beaune cuvees, each containing the equivalent of 24 × 12 bottle cases of wine! (see Reserve Collection tours for this Ultimate Burgundy wine tour!)
We are very grateful to Anthony Hanson M.W who succeeded in bidding on the two following wines for us:
Volnay Premier Cru, Cuvée Général Muteau and one of the few barrels of St Romain on offer which Anthony particularly recommended we should consider.
These prestigious barrels will be looked after for us over the next 18 months by the top Burgundy Negociant, Faiveley. They will be bottled in the spring of 2012.
When our clients, Tim Clarke, Cindy-Marie Harvey and Emma Bramley for our team tasted the Hospices wines in London a few weeks ago we were extremely impressed and are all hugely proud to have been part of this historic wine event.
We are now looking forward to going down to Burgundy next June on our tour (visit the Reserve Collection tours for details) to taste the wines and to assess their progress in the company of MW’s Derek Smedley and Anthony Hanson. This is a unique experience available exclusively to A&C clients.
Lynette Arblaster & Tim Clarke donated a case of the St Romain at the annual auction at the conference of The Association of Independent Tour Operators which also took place last Sunday and are delighted that this raised a further £500 for the charities supported by Aito, such as one that supports the street children of Mexico City. So this wine has now served two good causes before even getting into our glasses, where it will serve yet another good cause of making those who drink it smile!
