New Vineyard Walks! — 07/11/2007
We are pleased to announce a couple of new Vineyard walks.
A short 3 and a half day walk in Champagne, taking in the heart of the Montagne de Reims, Valley of the Marne and Cote des Blancs vineyards. This is a good introductory walk, the walking is gentle but the tastings are serious!
Beaujolais Crus and the Northern Rhone. This is a somewhat more arduous walk over the steep granite hills of the Beaujolais crus, starting in St Amour and covering Fleurie, Morgon, Brouilly etc. This section is just north of Lyons, there are also a couple of days just South of Lyons in the great (and imposing) vineyards of Hermitage and Cote Rotie.
We are committed to expanding our Vineyard Walks, but this is a slow process as the walking route has to be intensively researched and this takes a lot of time. At present we are considering the beautiful Wachau, (just up river from Vienna) and also the Ribera del Duero for those classic Northern Spanish reds.
