Europe
Arblaster & Clarke Wine Tours have tours visiting visiting the classic European wine countries of France, Italy, Spain, Portugal and Germany as we have been for many years. There are also a few lesser known regions which have also featured in our wine tours programme for many years, which this year include Switzerland, Greece, Croatia and Slovenia.
In France alone there is a wide range of wine tours to the top wine regions featuring Champagne, Burgundy, Bordeaux, the Rhone, the Loire and Alsace. In Italy there will be around 10 tours taking in Tuscany, Piemonte, Sicily (spring 2012), Puglia, the Veneto and Lombardy.
A&C have visited Austria and Hungary regularly over the years and clients have even had tastings in Luxembourg and Montenegro! Whilst Belgium is, just, a European Wine Country with wine being made in a small way in the south of the country, we have visited here to taste their special beers which we first arranged a tour to nearly 25 years ago when we had the great pleasure of organising tours for the Campaign for Real Ale!
Finally England. There are quite a few vineyards on our home patch in the Weald and on the Downs. There should be more, and, there soon will be! – English Sparkling Wine made using the same methods, chalky soil and grape varieties as Champagne can be really impressive. Do try it if you haven’t already. In the next year we plan to be showing quite a few groups from overseas around the vineyards of Southern England.
