To ensure you get the best out of the region you are visiting on an Arblaster & Clarke Wine Tour, we make sure that most tours are accompanied by an expert Wine Guide. All our guides are accessible and can make light of talking in depth, making even the most complex wine issues interesting, easy to understand and fun! Many of our guides are Masters of Wine (MW), the highest qualification in the wine trade, or are renowned experts in their field.
Louisa Pearson
Louisa worked for Grahams Port in Oporto and Torres in Spain and has proved to be a great hit with our clients. You are likely to meet her in Spain, Portugal or France as Tour Manager and sometimes as Wine Guide. |
Nicola Arcedeckne-Butler
Nicola specialises in the classic regions of Bordeaux and Burgundy as a buyer for Private Cellar, but has a love of all things Italian having lived there in her twenties. MW since 1996, and in the trade for 20 years all told, she is fluent in French and Italian. |
Paul Attwood-Philippe
Paul Attwood-Philippe is a resident of Burgundy and leads our wine breaks and some other French tours. Paul works for a tonnelier and has worked at several wine domaines. He is very knowledgeable on wine, particularly from his own region. |
Richard Mayson
Richard was bought up in Portugal and specialises in the wines of Iberia, especially fortified wines. He now owns a vineyard in the Alto Alentejo region of Portugal. Richard has taken many tours to Portugal for Arblaster & Clarke. |
Robert Joseph
Robert was one of the founders of the renowed International Wine Challenge and is an extremely highly respected member of the wine trade. We are delighted to have him in the team! |
Ronald Weustink
Ronald Weustink worked in the Dutch wine trade for eight years. He moved to the Douro in 2001, where he runs a guest house at Quinta do Passadouro. He escorts our Douro walk and Port Harvest Tour. He is treading grapes here! |
Rosemary George MW
Rosemary George MW, is a highly respected wine writer for her coverage of Chablis, New Zealand, Italy and the South of France. She has taken many tours for Arblaster & Clarke over the years to various parts of France and Italy. |
Vivienne Franks
Vivienne is a freelance educator who runs wine courses for the trade and consumers. She is passionate about encouraging people to taste wines from around the world and enjoys travelling to seek out new grape varieties and wine styles. |
Wendy Narby
Wendy Narby, teaches at the Ecole du Vin and has been a wine and food consultant in Paris and Bordeaux for the last 20 years. British born Wendy’s wine experience is not just based upon study but years working as a marketing consultant, journalist, teacher and guide. Leaving Paris to marry a local Château owner and negociant, Wendy now shares her passion for the region with friends and clients from all over the world. |
