For an unusual, enjoyable and informative short trip for all levels of staff – from junior sales teams to senior management why not consider a truffle hunting experience? No, we are not talking about the chocolate type of truffles (though as this region is where chocolate as we know it today first originated we will be tasting some of that too!), but the special mushroom that grows on the roots of certain oak and hazelnut trees and is considered to be one of the most exquisite gourmet delicacies!

Outline Itinerary

This trip is based in Piemonte in North West Italy which is also famed for its robust red wines – Barolo and Barbaresco, for its gourmet cuisine and its superb regional markets; simply oozing with the local products.

You’ll fly to Turin. You can currently do this with British Airways or one of the low-cost carriers. We can either book this for you, since we are fully licensed with the CAA to do so, or you can book it yourself.

It’s then a short drive to this beautiful vineyard region (around an hour and a half).
This evening, check into your ultra-cool 4* winery hotel, learn about the fabulous wines they produce over a delicious meal in their atmospheric traditional auberge just a short stroll across the courtyard.

Next morning you’ll be met by your local guide who will take you to meet one of the local truffle hunters at a strictly secret location! You’ll follow him and his dog as they hunt down the precious truffles. Lunch can either be a very rustic affair in the hunter’s shack in the woods – or we can take you to one of the Michelin acclaimed local restaurants – either way, your lunch will be laced with the truffles for a truly mouth-watering experience. The perfume of these special tubers is intoxicating!

Then you are ready to fly back from Turin, or stay on for another night which will give you time to visit the market in Alba, the traditional coffee shops and cafes in Bra, visit a distillery to see how Grappa is made, or visit another wine estate.

Price per person based on a minimum party size of 12: £625 per person

Pick up in small coach from Turin airport
One night, twin share in 4* boutique winery hotel (sole occupancy, plus £65 )
Traditional auberge dinner with wines
Truffle demonstration with simple rustic lunch OR gourmet lunch for £55 per person supplement.
Return transfer to Turin
