Milan Private Opera Tour

Client Incentive or Senior Management level reward

For a special thank-you to an opera-loving client, or key employee, this is a real treat – the rare opportunity to attend an opera at one of the world’s most renowned Opera Houses.

Arblaster & Clarke Wine Tours have been arranging Wine & Opera trips for over 14 years and, since the reopening of La Scala several years ago now, have offered a series of independent opera breaks to the city.

Milan is of course known more as a centre of business and fashion, rather than a weekend destination – yet there is a wealth of cultural interest to explore. The cathedral is one of the largest Gothic churches in the world. Work began on it in the 14th century and took 500 years to complete. Museums include the Castello Sforzesco with a fine collection of furniture and art, including Michelangelo’s unfinished Rondanini Pieta sculpture. The Pinacoteca di Brera houses Milan’s finest art collection, including Francesco Hayez, “The Kiss”, one of the most reproduced works of 19th century art. Many of the churches, which in themselves are fascinating architecturally, house works of art, including the most famous of all at the Santa Maria delle Grazie, where the monk’s refectory is home to Da Vinci’s truly magnificent Last Supper fresco.

The splendid glass and metal domed Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is near our hotel, and when you are not busy window shopping in the elegant shops, don’t forget to look at the wonderful mosaics and up at the dome. For foodies, you have to visit the Peck Food Hall, which with four floors bursting with traditional Italian produce along with all the flavour and aromas to go with them, must make it, one of the best deli’s in the world!
