Private Chateau Stay in Bordeaux

The wine region of Bordeaux is the Holy Grail for many a serious wine enthusiast and the opportunity to stay in a private wine chateau as guests is a rare and special privilege.

Arblaster & Clarke Wine Tours has been operating to the region since the late 1980’s and has inspected most of the accommodation in the area. There are a handful of wine chateaux that have been renovated in recent years to a high level and welcome very small parties of VIP guests.

Below is a sample itinerary based on a luxury three roomed wine Chateau in the Medoc so would suit a company keen to entertain its top clients in an unusual setting in the company of one of your Senior Director’s, for example. We can offer similar styles of trips in chateaux with up to 8 rooms or if you are a larger party in small luxury chateau-hotels in the Medoc or St Emilion. In all cases this style of trip is aimed at Senior Directors and Mangers.

Outline Itinerary

Day 1

On arrival at Bordeaux airport your luxury mini-coach, wine guide and driver will meet you and take you to your chateau accommodation and lunch venue, a stunning Bordelaise chateau in the Médoc. After checking in, you will then have a tasting of the wines of the chateau over a lunch in the beautiful traditional kitchen with the chef cooking a delicious traditional meal in front of you.

After lunch you will be able to check into your rooms. This is not a hotel but a privileged invitation to stay as private guests at a leading Médoc wine chateau.

It would be possible to have a business meeting at the hotel this afternoon if required.

Tonight you will have a gastronomic dinner at another of the leading wine chateaux in the region.

Day 2

After breakfast you will check out of your accommodation and make a short coach journey to another leading chateau in the area for a visit and a tasting at one of the many beautiful chateaux in the Medoc.
This morning could also be used as a Meeting/seminar time instead if preferred, as there is a suitable room for this at the chateau.

Following the visit you will be taken to Bordeaux where you will enjoy lunch at a Michelin Rosette restaurant. The coach will then take you to Bordeaux airport/train station in time for your return flight/train back to the UK.

- Luxury mini coach for itinerary. – Local Wine guide for itinerary. – One night exclusive hire of an entire wine chateau. – Lunch at a Bordeaux Chateau served with a selection of different vintages of Bordeaux wines from the chateau. – Gourmet dinner at a Chateau in the Medoc with wines included. – Gourmet lunch at a Michelin rosette restaurant in Bordeaux with wines included.

Our in-house wine experts will select wines for the meals. If the clients require First Growth wines and great vintages, this is of course possible, for an additional cost.

Tour Price:

Based on 6 staying at the Medoc chateau with exclusive hire of the Chateau, which has just 3 rooms, the total event price would be around £12000 – £14000.

For a party of 8 staying in a larger private chateau in the Medoc with 8 rooms, the price based on 8 sole occupancy rooms, the total event price would be between £16000 and £18000 net – with autumn being the high season pricing.
