Independent La Scala New Year Tour, Milan
30 December 2010 - 2 January 2011
This independent New Year Tour will take place in Italy’s imposing and elegant city, Milan. The trip includes a Gala New Year’s Eve dinner, first category tickets to Swan Lake at La Scala and Beethoven’s Ninth in the Auditorium. You will enjoy your stay with three nights in a central 4* hotel.
Teatro alla Scala is one of the world’s most glamorous theatres. The cathedral is one of the largest Gothic churches in the world. Work began on it in the 14th century and took 500 years to complete, which has made it the magnificent venue it is today.
As for the destination, Milan is known more as a centre of business and fashion, and there is a wealth of cultural interest to explore. Museums include the Castello Sforzesco with a fine collection of furniture and art, including Michelangelo’s unfinished Rondanini Pieta sculpture. The Pinacoteca di Brera houses Milan’s finest art collection, including Francesco Hayez, “The Kiss”, one of the most reproduced works of 19th century art.
There are many opportunities for fine dining and as always in an A&C tour you’ll be armed with our tried and tested restaurant suggestions including the Peck Food Hall which, with four floors bursting with traditional Italian produce along with all the flavour and aromas to go with them, makes it one of the best deli’s in the world!
