Champagne 'Le Longue Weekend'
30 November, 12 - 15 April 2007, 6 - 9 December 2007
Our base for this 'Longue weekend' is the Grand Cru village of Ay, which is an easy drive from Calais. Our guide will meet you on location.
Ay is a centre of the Champagne trade, home to Bollinger and many other houses. Anyone looking to stock up their car for a family celebration will find these trips ideal. Especially at this time when Champagne is so expensive in the UK, even with the strength of the euro there are still great savings to be made. The Reims Christmas market will also be on at this time (December tours).
On the first evening we have an introductory tasting. On the next day our wine touring is on foot as we walk around Ay, visiting several small firms for tasting.
The next day we visit a personal selection of vineyards and cellars by coach, having lunch with one of the Champagne growers and a late afternoon tasting to finish.
