This tour takes place exactly 21 years since our very first Champagne weekend! We start the tour in style with a splendid comparative tasting of vintages of top cuvees selected by the wine guide
On our first day in Reims we visit Champagne Tarlant. Lunchtime is free in Reims. Next we visit high quality negociant, Ployez- Jacquemart for an evening of Laurence Ployez's gourmet food accompanied by her superb, structured and age worthy champagnes.
Our Monday morning is spent with Jacquesson, where the Chiquet brothers continue their good work. The house Champagne is no longer called 'Perfection' and it's no longer a 'non vintage' that just strives to be regular. Perfection now, is a quest.
We finish in fine style at Philipponnat. Their ‘Clos des Goisses’ is one of only a handful of great single vineyard Champagnes. We taste this and other cuvées over lunch.

Day 1 Saturday
Join the tour in the morning at Liss, London, Dover or along the A3 & M20. Departure from London is generally 7.30am.
We arrive in Reims about 4 pm where we stay at a good central 3* hotel. In the early evening, the Wine Guide introduces a deluxe Champagne tasting, perhaps a single vintage from different houses or just a range of interesting, impressive and prestige Champagne.†
Day 2 Sunday
Today starts with Champagne breakfast, then a visit to a good house or grower. Lunchtime is free in Reims.
In the evening, we taste more superb cuvées over dinner at a Champagne house or leading grower.
Day 3 Monday
Again, Champagne breakfast before visiting another top house, followed by gourmet lunch at a cellar or a michelin starred restaurant*.
We'll arrive back at around 8.30pm in Dover or Folkestone and 10.30pm in London.
- The meal plan varies. On some tours there are two meals at Champagne cellars, on others lunch is at a good restaurant.
† On some tours this tasting is on the second night and on the first evening we go out to dinner at a Champagne house.
Joining on location
It is also possible to join the tours on location in Champagne. In which case your tour finishes at approx 3.30 pm in Reims. You can be dropped off at the hotel or at the SNCF railway station (about 5 minutes walk from the hotel) which has regular trains to Paris.
We can also arrange transfers to and from central Paris or Paris Charles de Gaulle airport by Limousine, Taxi or Renault espace.
