Autumn Champagne Extra
14 - 16 October 2007, 11 - 13 October 2008
This tour has a very interesting selection of top growers and leading houses, where you will have the opportunity to taste a wide variety of Champagne styles.
We start off in fine style with a superb comparative tasting of luxurious top cuvées, then next morning we start with the prestigious house of Billecart-Salmon, where they make great champagne in the modern style that ages gloriously. We continue to the ultra-traditional Alfred Gratien, where we have a special invitation to lunch. In the late afternoon we visit the great house of Krug.
Many Champagne houses claim a connection to Napoleon, Jacquesson can prove it! This is not their only claim to fame - the wines speak for themselves, indeed the ‘Cuvée Perfection’ is now discontinued for something better! Our last visit is to Moët et Chandon, where we have lunch in the famous Orangerie. These well known Champagnes are on top form, but the ‘Premier Cru’ and ‘Dom Perignon’ beyond expectation.
