Visit renowned producers, sample vintages and stock up on cellar-door priced bottles for your own holiday parties this December
A Pre-Christmas Whirlwind Weekend Break Under £700? Go on, then…
If you picture yourself enjoying the festive season, what do you see? Do you picture yourself uncorking a magnificent bottle of wine as your friends and family hold their glasses out towards you? Perhaps you’re imagining a toast being made over a delicious home-cooked meal. Or, maybe, you’re thinking about the Christmas markets and holiday lights that turn familiar streets into winter wonderlands.
It’s no secret that Christmas and the holidays can be predictable, which is why we want to offer you a place on our Pre-Christmas Champagne tour. Spend a whirlwind weekend in the stunning French city of Reims, touring champagne houses and visiting producers in the company of Master of Wine, Conal Gregory.
Conal, a former presenter on ITV’s The Food Programme, will accompany a tour group on visits to some of France’s most prestigious companies. Experience a few hours at Taittinger’s beautiful Château de la Marquetterie, sample the very best at Champagne Jean Milan and end on a ‘Bouzy’ note at Edmond Barnaut‘s regional house.
Departing on December 1st, kick off the 2018 holiday season in style with a whirlwind champagne tour to remember. Starting out with a sumptuous champagne tasting at our 4* hotel upon arrival, the region’s history is then presented in all its glory by our expert guide before we return to our rooms to unwind. On the second day, after a delicious champagne breakfast, we board our private air-conditioned coach and head to Champagne Jean Milan, where we sample the finest offerings of the Côte des Blancs region. Free time to enjoy the delights of Reims follows ahead of our final day. The last morning will see us indulge in another champagne breakfast and then it’s onto Edmond Barnaut for a tour and tasting. Later, we visit Taittinger’s Château de la Marquetterie and then we travel back to England via Calais on the Eurostar.
